About The Position

The Production Operator is responsible for producing a quality American Trim product by following established procedures. This role involves reading process sheets and specifications, inspecting and transferring products, packaging finished goods, and maintaining a clean work area. The operator will communicate any defects or issues to the Line Operator and may assist with packaging needs and specialized tasks when trained.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Good hand eye coordination.
  • Good attention to detail.
  • Ability to work at a fast pace while looking for defects.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Must have reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

  • Produce a quality American Trim product by following procedures.
  • Read process sheets, specifications, and related documentation.
  • Inspect and place or transfer product on the coating line according to process sheets and/or loading diagrams.
  • Inspect and package product from the coating line according to process sheets and/or packaging sheets.
  • Communicate any defects, problems, or issues to the Line Operator.
  • Perform specialized wiping and transferring of various products when trained and assigned.
  • Assist the Material Handler in preparing packaging needs.
  • Ensure scrap and rework are placed in correct containers/locations.
  • Return process sheets, loading diagrams, packaging sheets, and specifications to the correct location at the end of the run.
  • Return tooling, part samples/masters, and packaging to the correct location at the end of the run.
  • Maintain a clean work area, free from debris and clutter, and sweep at the end of the shift.
