About The Position

This is a full-time, hourly position for a Weekend 2nd Production Operator. The role involves monitoring, operating, and adjusting production equipment to meet production goals while adhering to Algood's core values. The operator will be responsible for ensuring equipment runs at optimal safety, quality, and efficiency standards, assisting with rework, completing documentation, staging and loading packaging, and maintaining continuous cleaning. Food safety procedures and clear communication with management are essential. The position requires working in an internal environment and may involve occasional overtime.

Requirements

  • High school diploma/GED
  • Previous related experience required
  • At minimum of 2-3 years’ experience in Food Manufacturing
  • Ability to speak, read, and write in the English language.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret common instructions and schedules.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide all units of measure.
  • Ability to maintain considerable concentration with frequent time pressures and interruptions.
  • Ability to maintain visual attention for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to occasionally lift or carry minimal weights up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to occasionally reach, squat, kneel, climb, push, or pull.
  • Ability to manipulate necessary office equipment including computer software, hardware, and equipment.
  • Must comply with all health and safety requirements.
  • HACCP and SQF training required.

  • Forklift experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Monitoring, operating, and adjusting production equipment to maintain production goals.
  • Operating equipment to optimal safety, quality, and efficiency standards.
  • Interfacing with PLCs to control/operate equipment effectively.
  • Locating and staging materials as needed.
  • Performing sanitation tasks on equipment.
  • Operating, monitoring, and adjusting machinery on the production line and quickly identifying any malfunctions.
  • Stopping machines and reporting any malfunctions immediately.
  • Assisting in rework during idle production times.
  • Completing all necessary documentation in a timely manner.
  • Staging and loading packaging for the products that will be produced on the line.
  • Ensuring continuous cleaning required throughout the shift.
  • Inspecting all materials, ingredients, and inventory to ensure food safety procedures are followed.
  • Ensuring an open line of communication to management/supervisors.
  • Coordinating breaks/lunches with other Operators and Supervisor.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.
