About The Position

As a Production Operator at Avient, you will set up and operate equipment to blend, mix, or transport chemicals used in customer products, ensuring quality and cost efficiency. The role includes machine maintenance, quality control, recording production data, and following company principles as well as safety and regulatory requirements. The position works Monday through Friday from 2:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. Training takes place on first shift for approximately two months before transitioning to second shift.

Requirements

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent training and experience.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Mathematical skills sufficient to perform addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, use conversions, and work with units such as weight, volume, density, and distance.
• Dependable and reliable.
• Openness to working overtime as needed.
• Team player who is willing to share knowledge and learn from other team members.

Responsibilities

• Set up, start, and operate machinery.
• Weigh ingredients according to recipe specifications and add them to machinery, or ensure the correct ingredients are delivered to the work area and insert pre-blended materials into machinery.
• Monitor production and equipment for safe and efficient operation, and troubleshoot equipment and processing issues.
• Operate machinery to mix, extrude, discharge, or handle materials.
• Take material samples to the laboratory when needed for evaluation and instructions on batch adjustments.
• Perform required machine cleaning.
• Document completed work, including logs, data reports, and procedures.
