Requirements
- Job may require decimals and fractions, drawings and formulas, measuring instruments and a variety of hand tools.
- Ability to lift up to at least 75 pounds.
- Some judgment to stay in sync with instructions, follow methods, make minor decisions.

Responsibilities
- Control iron quality and relieve employees as required in the Melt Department.
- Operate equipment used in the Melt Department including cupola/furnace, holding furnaces, desulfurizing vessel, converters, cranes and any equipment that is essential to normal operations.
- Remove gates, risers, runner bars, sprues, and fins from castings using wedger or sledge hammer in Molding & Knock Off.
- Transport full and empty ladles between the melt furnaces.
- Pour molten metal into molds.
- Collect information about ladle number, molds poured, and iron temperature.
- Exhibit outstanding safety practices every day evidenced by outstanding housekeeping at all times.
- Extend treatment to all other employees of the Company as individuals with the courtesy and dignity shown to customers.
- Exceed customer quality and service expectations through attention to detail.
- Exercise maximum care to protect the environment by encouraging and supporting responsible operating procedures.
- Secure proper tools for each task.
- Communicate suggestions and recommend solutions to problems to provide for an efficient operation.
- Approach work assignments in a positive manner and function as a team member.
