About The Position

The Production Operator works in manufacturing at Sun Chemical’s Cincinnati, Ohio location. The role involves reviewing batch tickets, weighing and combining ingredients in the required sequence, conducting preliminary quality checks, providing samples to the lab, and packing products into designated containers. The operator also supports ingredient traceability, inventory activities, equipment and plant cleaning, and safe plant operations. The stated schedule is a day shift from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Knowledge of MS Office.
• Ability to repeatedly lift 55 pounds.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time.
• Forklift experience.

Nice To Haves

• Comprehension of SAP.
• Industry experience with batch manufacturing.
• At least 1 year of experience in a production or manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Read, understand, and follow batch tickets.
• Gather and weigh ingredients using scales and combine ingredients in the designated sequence.
• Provide samples to the lab and perform preliminary quality checks.
• Pack product into designated containers and label containers.
• Maintain ingredient traceability.
• Report near-miss incidents and improvement opportunities.
• Clean equipment and the plant, and dispose of waste.
• Operate a forklift and tub washer.
• Rotate stock to minimize partial containers.
• Perform SAP inventory lookups, SAP CORK duties, and SAP cycle count duties.
• Participate actively in plant safety initiatives, programs, and training.
• Follow applicable standard operating procedures.
