About The Position

Under general supervision, operate welding, assembly, or machining equipment, or various types of presses in the manufacturing area. Safety is a top priority, and employees are expected to strictly follow safety policies, promptly correct or report hazards, and make suggestions for safety improvements.

Requirements

Graduation from high school or 18 years of age.
Pass math measurement/blueprint test with 85% or better.
Some knowledge of the equipment, materials, methods, and practices used in the production process.
Some knowledge of related safety requirements to include proper use of safety equipment and proper safety precautions.
Ability to understand and follow routine oral and written instructions.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
Must have average math skills and mechanical ability.

Recent mechanical and shop experience.

Responsibilities

Read and understand simple blueprints and sketches.
Manufacture parts to blueprints and/or sketches using Operator Inspection Instructions (OII) as a guide.
Inspect parts produced as instructed by OII, teacher, set-up person, lead-person, or supervisor using tools such as tape measure, caliper, micrometer, protractor, and document findings.
Return pattern, check fixture, and any documentation forms to the proper location upon completion of production operation.
Stack parts, clean machines, or perform other assigned duties.
Operate various types and sizes of stamping presses in a safe and efficient manner, or operate machines including milling machines, CNC machines, spot welders, turret machines, rivet machines, and others as instructed.
Use software programs to enter time/payroll information, job information, etc.
Perform duties as specified on the Daily Maintenance/Safety Checklist for equipment being operated.
Maintain a clean and safe work area.
