About The Position

Sandvik Mining, Ground Support Division is seeking a Production Operator. This position is responsible for the production operations, including assembly, machinery, processing and/or packaging. We are looking for an enthusiastic team player with expertise in manufacturing. Requirements

  • Legal entitlement to work in Canada.
  • Previous related experience in a production or manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively using the spoken word in English.
  • Ability to read and understand basic instructions provided in written or drawing form.
  • Good mathematical skills, ability to accurately read/understand a tape measure (metric/standard).
  • Understanding of common workplace safety and environment practices.
  • Ability to meet attendance/punctuality requirements.
  • Ability to work shift-work.
  • Physical ability to continually handle objects weighing up to 20 lbs. and occasionally up to 50 lbs.

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to operate forklift.

Responsibilities

  • Setup, calibration, and operation of machines used in production processes.
  • Following established procedures for operating various conventional and/or CNC manufacturing equipment.
  • Selecting and measuring raw materials and parts to specifications to prepare for production processing.
  • Resolving issues related to production, machinery, processing, and/or packaging operations.
  • Inspecting machining operations and finished product against specified tolerances using precision measuring tools.
  • Determining and correcting minor machine malfunctions and performing simple routine maintenance and cleaning.
  • Adhering to safety and housekeeping (5S) requirements.
  • Contributing to the manufacturing of components and finished goods.
  • Performing general labor.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.
  • Complying with safety policies and applicable government, customer or industry regulations or requirements.
  • Maintaining an orderly work area and ensuring housekeeping requirements are met.
  • Attending Environmental, Health and Safety related trainings.
  • Wearing the required personal protective equipment (PPE) assigned for each task.
