About The Position

Responsible for performing multiple processes relating to the manufacture of technical ceramics and/or metals according to work order specifications. Works within a team environment to meet departmental goals and maintains work area cleanliness. Operates complex or varied production equipment, inspects parts for compliance with quality and customer specifications, transfers parts to the next process using computer software, and handles product using appropriate equipment. The role also includes cleaning equipment and work areas, training incoming operators, and wearing required personal protective equipment in mandatory areas.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of applicable manufacturing experience.
• Ability to understand and act on verbal and/or written instructions.
• Ability to read and interpret standard and metric measurements.
• Intermediate math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
• Deep knowledge of handheld measuring equipment, including micrometers, calipers, and drop gauges, and advanced measuring equipment such as SmartScope or CMM.
• Ability to use Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing to read and understand the relationship between complex blueprints and parts.
• Attention to detail and excellent listening skills.
• Ability to work with people from diverse cultures and backgrounds.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Operate multiple complex production machines and/or a variety of production equipment to manufacture parts in compliance with work order instructions.
• Make machine adjustments and contact the appropriate person when needed.
• Inspect parts to determine whether they meet quality and customer specifications; take appropriate action for nonconforming parts and recommend solutions to the appropriate person.
• Transfer parts to the next process using computer software.
• Load, unload, and stack product; transport product using a hand truck, forklift, crane, or hoist.
• Clean work areas, machines, tools, and equipment.
• Train incoming operators on processes and procedures.
• Wear required personal protective equipment in areas where it is mandatory.
• Work within a team environment to meet departmental goals.
