Production Operator - Manufacturing

About The Position

The Production Operator II performs physical labor in a manufacturing plant and operates a variety of hand and power tools. The role supports efficient production according to established procedures while following safety protocols and workplace policies. Work includes assembly, inspection, testing, material handling, and operation of automated assembly equipment.

Requirements

Able to work a continental shift: 12-hour shifts from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m.
High school diploma or equivalent certificate.
Two to four years of manufacturing or production experience.
Strong communication skills.
Demonstrated attention to quality and detail.
Able to perform repetitive tasks, walk and stand for long periods, and perform physical labor.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience as a general labourer in a manufacturing environment.
Existing knowledge of workplace safety, First Aid, and CPR.
Ability to communicate effectively in both English and Mandarin.

Responsibilities

Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
Assemble circuits requiring fine hand assembly.
Check final assemblies for finish, labeling, and packaging methods.
Check mechanical dimensions and perform go/no-go electrical tests.
Identify and mark acceptable and defective assemblies.
Perform simple electrical and continuity testing of electronic components, parts, and systems.
Collect, record, and summarize inspection results.
Complete manual assembly, cleaning, testing, and inspection work according to work instructions.
Prepare and sort materials according to work instructions, and load or unload materials onto machines or manual workstations.
Connect cables, tubes, and wires to complete assemblies and installations.
Operate and tend automated assembly equipment, including robotic and fixed automation equipment.
Conduct cosmetic and functional inspections according to work instructions, and mark, record, and report defects.
Clean and prepare worksites, workstations, and machines.
Work with equipment operators to facilitate machine alignment, movement, and adjustment of machinery and materials.
Complete other duties and projects as assigned.
Ensure business activities meet high ethical standards and comply with the Canadian Solar Solution Code of Business Conduct.
Adhere to all health and safety rules and procedures.
