About The Position

This role assists with order processing, changes, and set-up. The operator will bag, box, or palletize finished product, perform quality inspections and tests, and position sheet rolls on unwind stands. Responsibilities include assisting in the production and operation of manufacturing process equipment, preparing production logs, product tags, and time cards, and operating the scrap grinder. The position requires adherence to plant safe housekeeping guidelines and compliance with SQF/HACCP requirements. The role involves working 12-hour shifts on a 2.2.3 rotation, from 5:45 PM to 6:00 AM.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in manufacturing a plus.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to print simple sentences and legibly complete reports and time cards.
  • Ability to understand and follow verbal instructions.
  • Ability to add and subtract up to three digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.
  • Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several variables in standardized situations.
  • Must be able to work 12 hour shifts, on a 2.2.3 rotation, 545pm-6am.

Responsibilities

  • Assists Production Tech with order processing, changes and set-up.
  • Bags, boxes or palletizes finished product.
  • Performs quality inspections and tests.
  • Positions sheet rolls on unwind stand and starts sheet into formers and through the trim press.
  • Assists in the production and operation of manufacturing process equipment.
  • Prepares production logs, product tags and time cards as necessary.
  • Operates scrap grinder as required and understands recycle system.
  • Follows and participates in plant safe housekeeping guidelines designed to ensure a safe work environment.
  • Remains compliant with SQF / HACCP requirements as per this location’s written “Food Safety & Quality Policy”.
