About The Position

This position assists in the production and operation of manufacturing process equipment. The role involves performing quality inspections, preparing production logs, and operating scrap grinders. The Production Operator I must adhere to plant safety and housekeeping guidelines, as well as SQF/HACCP requirements for food safety and quality. This role requires the ability to work 12-hour shifts on a 2.2.3 rotation, from 5:45 PM to 6:00 AM.

Requirements

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to print simple sentences and legibly complete reports and time cards.
  • Ability to understand and follow verbal instructions.
  • Ability to add and subtract up to three digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.
  • Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several variables in standardized situations.
  • Regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, push, pull and carry; and hear.
  • Frequently required to talk and reach with hands and arms.
  • Occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, or crouch.
  • Must regularly lift and/or move up to 12 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Responsibilities

  • Assists Production Tech with order processing, changes and set-up.
  • Bags, boxes or palletizes finished product.
  • Performs quality inspections and tests.
  • Positions sheet rolls on unwind stand and starts sheet into formers and through the trim press.
  • Assists in the production and operation of manufacturing process equipment.
  • Prepares production logs, product tags and time cards as necessary.
  • Operates scrap grinder as required and understands recycle system.
  • Follows and participates in plant safe housekeeping guidelines designed to ensure a safe work environment.
  • Remains compliant with SQF / HACCP requirements as per this location’s written “Food Safety & Quality Policy”.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Must be able to work 12 hour shifts, on a 2.2.3 rotation, 545pm-6am.
