About The Position

The Production Operator (OP1) is responsible for the machine operation, finished good output and quality, packaging, paperwork, and housekeeping of a production line. This role requires understanding the finished product, including how they run, their specifications, and how to achieve them. The operator will also be responsible for troubleshooting and correcting equipment and material problems, adjusting equipment as necessary, and creating a quality product in a timely fashion with low scrap. Cross-training within the Operator I scope is expected, and the role includes operating a forklift for various tasks, ensuring proper ticketing and labeling of boxes, and lifting weights up to 55 lbs. The operator must wear all required PPE, attend scheduled safety training, and follow all Health & Safety policies and procedures. Maintaining a clean work environment and ensuring the production area is kept in a respectable manner at all times is crucial. The role may require working various hours and overtime as situations require. While there is no direct supervisory responsibility, the operator may provide functional or technical guidance to other staff within a work group or unit and may offer advice on policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • A minimum of one year of previous manufacturing or operating experience is required.
  • Applies general clerical/trade knowledge and skills.
  • Understands basic methods, records, specifications and/or equipment within own work unit.

Nice To Haves

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred but not required.
  • Previous exposure to forklift operation is strongly desired but not required.
