About The Position

AM General is hiring production employees in Bristol, Indiana, to support HMWWV and JLTV A2 production. Hourly employees are represented by the UAW, and the company and union work together to support and develop the workforce. New hires are assigned to open positions; jobs may change daily, and employees earn the ability to bid on jobs after 90 days. The listed new-hire wages are $21.69 for Production and $19.63 for Materials and Quality. The shift starts at 5:00 a.m. Employees assemble and drill parts according to standardized work and job instructions, confirm the quality of their work, and may operate facility equipment or material-handling equipment. The role requires following safety rules, maintaining a clean work environment, and communicating with coworkers. Employees must be able to work on a contract basis for the first 30 days; that time counts toward benefits with a time-worked requirement.

Requirements

Responsibilities

Assemble and drill parts in accordance with standardized work and job instructions.
Confirm the quality of work performed.
Run equipment within the facility, as technically capable.
Use assigned hand tools, power tools, and torque tools.
May operate material-handling equipment, including forklifts.
Work and communicate with other employees in the assigned zone.
Attend zone meetings, problem-solving sessions, and training.
