About The Position

Airgas is hiring for a Production Operator in Hutchinson, KS! The Production Operator 1 is responsible for safely and efficiently operating various production equipment and executing manufacturing processes to produce high-quality industrial gases and related products, ensuring compliance with all safety protocols and quality standards.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED required.
0-2 years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment, preferably in a production operator role.
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds regularly and stand for extended periods.
Must be able to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

Operate and monitor production equipment, including compressors, pumps, distillation columns, and filling systems, according to established procedures.
Perform routine checks, inspections, and preventative maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal performance and identify potential issues.
Execute production orders, follow batch records, and accurately document all production activities and data.
Monitor process parameters, interpret gauges and controls, and make adjustments as necessary to maintain product specifications.
Load and unload raw materials, cylinders, and finished products, utilizing forklifts or other material handling equipment safely.
Conduct quality control checks and sample products to ensure adherence to established standards.
Troubleshoot minor equipment malfunctions and report major issues to maintenance or supervision.
Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to 5S principles.
Comply with all company safety policies, procedures, and environmental regulations.
Participate in safety meetings and continuous improvement initiatives.
