Requirements

  • High school diploma is required
  • 1+ years of related experience, or 1+ years of experience with Polytechnic/Associates degree in related field.
  • The ability to read and understand written instructions in English and to write/record information in a neat and accurate manner is required.
  • A working knowledge of basic math and a familiarity with U.S. and Metric weighing systems is required.
  • Basic computer skills are required.
  • Ability to work with moderate supervision and understand work prioritizations is required.
  • Regular predictable attendance is essential to the position, as well as, overtime when deadlines require it.
  • Routinely lifts and handles up to 50 lbs.
  • Demands include standing, lifting, stretching, lowering, raising, turning, and bending.
  • The ability to lift and lower product from floor or table top level, use a desktop personal computer and weigh on floor scales.

Nice To Haves

  • Basic knowledge of chemical handling and chemical hazards.
  • Knowledge of basic laboratory procedures.
  • Understanding of GMP, Allergen, and Kosher guidelines, sanitation principles and practical application.
  • Ability to use filter press equipment.
  • Working knowledge of process equipment and controls, or other mechanical equipment is preferred.
  • Knowledge of chemical hazards and inventory control techniques are preferred.
  • A working knowledge of compounding is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manually compounds “pours” in Manual Work Station to complete finished liquid flavors by following established procedures, and meeting quality standards.
  • Use of basic SAP inventory transactions.
  • Package products for shipment to customer following department specifications.
  • Performs other duties as required, such as dispensing and material handling.
  • Maintains accurate records of all work functions performed.
  • Questions issues with raw materials, intermediates and finished flavors, including processing instructions, appearance, yield, etc., and addresses with Supervisor or Lead.
  • Informs Supervisor or Lead and documents on batch sheet any issues, to ensure any changes to the formulas are documented and resolved.
  • Complete job assignments in a safe and timely manner, working as part of the lab team to ensure all required requests are completed.
  • Communicates problems to Supervisor or Lead.
  • Participates in continual improvement projects.
