Production & Operations Supervisors (Manufacturing)
About The Position
Turing is seeking experienced manufacturing operations professionals, especially frontline production or operations leads, to contribute their expertise to projects evaluating and improving AI systems. No prior AI experience is required. The work involves creating and solving realistic production and operations scenarios to test AI reasoning, writing structured solutions, reviewing AI responses, and collaborating with researchers to improve AI understanding of factory workflows and operational decision-making. Projects explore how AI can support decision-making, process efficiency, and coordination across manufacturing environments. Engagement is as a contractor or freelancer, with projects lasting approximately one month and possible extension. Work is fully remote. Compensation varies by project.
Requirements
- At least 4 years of experience as a Production Supervisor, Operations Lead, or Manufacturing Team Lead.
- Strong understanding of lean manufacturing, safety compliance, and process improvement principles.
- Comfortable using web-based tools for data review and annotation.
- Excellent English communication skills and ability to explain operational workflows and decisions clearly.
Responsibilities
- Design and solve real-world production and operations scenarios to test AI reasoning.
- Write clear, structured solutions covering workforce scheduling, production control, process optimization, and quality assurance.
- Evaluate AI responses for accuracy, clarity, and alignment with manufacturing standards.
- Collaborate with researchers to refine AI understanding of factory workflows, leadership decision-making, and lean manufacturing practices.
