About The Position

Cargill is hiring a Production Miner I to support safe, efficient, and continuous salt mining operations. The position is full-time on the third shift and pays $28.85 per hour. The role involves working underground, potentially up to 1,800 feet, and in varied indoor and outdoor conditions. Employees must use required personal protective equipment and may need to work overtime, weekends, holidays, or different shifts with advance notice. A $1,500 sign-on bonus is offered. Relocation reimbursement is not included.

Requirements

• Must be eligible to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Ability to understand and communicate in English, verbally and in writing.
• Ability and willingness, with or without reasonable accommodation, to work underground up to 1,800 feet and perform bending, kneeling, climbing, crawling, twisting, and lifting at least 50 pounds.
• Ability to work in varied indoor and outdoor conditions, including underground areas, heat, cold, dust, and loud noise, while using required PPE; PPE may include a harness in some circumstances.
• Ability to work overtime, including weekends, holidays, or different shifts with advance notice.
• High school diploma/GED or at least two years of equivalent work experience.
• Ability to operate machinery and/or industrial equipment.
• Ability to pass a routine criminal background check and an ATF Explosives Possessor background check.

Nice To Haves

• Prior experience in production-related work.
• Basic computer skills.
• Previous mining experience.

Responsibilities

• Follow safety requirements, including proper use of PPE, area inspections, hazard identification, and pre-operational equipment checks.
• Report and address hazards, document equipment deficiencies, and submit work requests in SAP.
• Perform tasks within the mining cycle to support safe, efficient, and continuous salt mining operations.
• Carry out additional duties as assigned by the Production Supervisor.
