About The Position

Provide mechanical support for production personnel on packaging equipment. Equipment includes various types of sorters, fillers, cappers, torquers, check-weighers, labelers, coders (laser and inkjet), CCD camera inspection units, neckband/sleevers, cartoners, bundlers, case tapers, compounding equipment utilizing motors up to 60HP and open or closed loop temperature control systems. Other routine responsibilities include properly maintaining the packaging equipment to ensure high quality product utilizing the preventative maintenance, work order, calibration and cGMP documentation systems. Excellent troubleshooting skills essential to this position including single/three phase electrical and mechanical timing applications. Accurate routine set-ups, adjustments, equipment changeovers and periodical maintenance are expected of high speed packaging equipment systems and subsystems for proper operation. Ability to operate equipment to test equipment performance after repairs and preventative maintenance routines is also required. Ability to follow directions, good communication skills and proficiency with various types of computer software including MS Office applications is also preferred.

Requirements

  • High school education minimum.
  • Must have minimum of 3 years experience working in a manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrate skills or certification to perform electrical work meeting NEC/OSHA requirements.
  • Must be capable of working in a team environment and with minimum supervision.

Nice To Haves

  • Trade school or military background preferable with 2 year degree or equivalent.
  • Ability to follow directions, good communication skills and proficiency with various types of computer software including MS Office applications is also preferred.

Responsibilities

  • High level of Troubleshooting and problem solving skills.
  • Perform line set-up.
  • Adjust machines to established parameters/setpoints. This includes line speed, fill weight, torques, code numbers.
  • Perform machine repairs and adjustment maintenance on routine basis.
  • Clean machine parts according standard operating procedure and good manufacturing equipment.
  • Perform project work as desired.
  • Requisition parts to replace worn or damaged parts.
  • Train operators on set-up and operational procedures.
  • Insure that safety procedures are observed.
