About The Position

The Production Material Handler is responsible for managing material requests, picking and delivering raw materials and semi-finished goods, leading batch kitting activities, and performing inventory movements. This role requires utilizing inventory management systems, ensuring accurate inventory transactions, and participating in daily department meetings. The handler will also be responsible for following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), supporting training programs, performing preventive maintenance on equipment, and exercising good judgment in accordance with safety and operational policies. The position operates in a fast-paced environment with a focus on minimizing delays to production and shipment needs.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least 6 years of Warehouse, Logistics, or equivalent experience.
  • Good experience in using inventory or warehouse management system.
  • Reasonable computer software skills including MS Office.
  • Ability to complete assigned tasks within working hours and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to communicate potential issues to the manager and help develop potential solutions and improvements.
  • Strong attention to detail, quality conscious, and excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to maintain accurate paperwork and execute good documentation practices.
  • Ability to be a good team member and work well with diverse groups & personalities.
  • Safety conscious and compliant with all health and safety regulations.
  • Have a valid Driver's License and the ability to operate company vehicles, including Box Truck.

Nice To Haves

  • SAP experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage requests for materials through various communication channels (email, inventory management systems, Kanban cards).
  • Pick bulk raw materials/semi-finished goods from storage locations and deliver them to production staging areas securely and consolidated.
  • Lead batch kitting activities for material delivery into production.
  • Utilize inventory management system(s) to identify specific material batches or target FEFO/FIFO inventory.
  • Transfer materials from staging areas to respective production lines.
  • Prepare raw materials/semi-finished goods for return to storage, ensuring secure packaging and accurate labeling.
  • Remove raw materials/semi-finished goods/finished goods from production lines to staging areas or warehouse locations.
  • Monitor and replenish stock levels at Kanban locations.
  • Perform inventory movements using manual/motorized pallet jacks, fork trucks, box trucks, and other equipment.
  • Perform cycle counts, quantity corrections, and inventory management activities.
  • Complete inventory transactions within active inventory management system(s).
  • Perform multiple inventory storage replenishments through the production space daily.
  • Actively participate in daily department meetings to be aware of priorities and communicate relevant information.
  • Follow current Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and Work Instructions.
  • Lead and support training programs within the scope of work.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on equipment as specified in the preventive maintenance program.
  • Provide ownership and support to inventory needs identified by Production and/or Warehouse.
  • Exercise good judgment in accordance with safety and operational policies and procedures.
  • Operate with a sense of urgency in a fast-paced environment to minimize delays.
  • Perform other related duties and assignments as required.
