About The Position

SPX is a diverse team of unique individuals who all make an impact. As a Production Material Handler, you will help keep manufacturing running by accurately pulling, issuing, staging, and delivering parts and materials to production work areas. You will use production orders and inventory information to locate the correct parts, maintain inventory accuracy, and ensure manufacturing teams have the materials they need to complete customer orders safely and on time.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in manufacturing, warehouse, inventory, material handling, parts picking, or a similar environment.
  • Ability to read part numbers, work orders, pick lists, and basic production documentation.
  • Basic math and computer/data-entry skills.
  • Ability to safely operate or become certified to operate powered industrial equipment as required.

Nice To Haves

  • 1+ year of material handling, parts picking, inventory, or manufacturing experience.
  • Experience pulling and issuing parts to production work orders.
  • Experience using an ERP, inventory management, warehouse management, or barcode scanning system.
  • Forklift or powered industrial truck experience.
  • Experience with cycle counting and inventory accuracy.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to recognize part-number and quantity discrepancies.

Responsibilities

  • Follow all safety rules and adhere to core value of business.
  • Maintain clean, orderly work areas and equipment.
  • Report repairs and/or issues to team lead or supervisor.
  • Review production orders, pick lists, or material requests to determine required parts and quantities.
  • Locate and accurately pull parts, components, hardware, and materials from designated inventory locations.
  • Issue materials to production orders and accurately record inventory transactions.
  • Stage and deliver parts and materials to designated production work areas.
  • Verify part numbers, descriptions, quantities, and work orders before issuing materials.
  • Identify shortages, incorrect parts, or inventory discrepancies and promptly communicate issues to the appropriate team member or supervisor.
  • Return unused materials to the correct inventory location and complete required inventory transactions.
  • Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, carts, and other material-handling equipment safely.
  • Maintain accurate inventory locations and quantities through proper material transactions.
  • Assist with cycle counts and physical inventory activities.
  • Investigate and report inventory discrepancies.
  • Maintain organized and clearly identified parts and material storage locations.
  • Follow FIFO or other established material-control processes where applicable.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts related to material flow, inventory accuracy, and production efficiency.
  • Team player, assisting other team members and departments as needed with other duties not routine to position.
  • Punctual, on time, ready to work, every day.
