About The Position

Value Added Distributors, LLC is seeking a dynamic and growth-oriented Production Manager to oversee facility activities, ensuring team members and finished products meet quality standards and customer expectations. This role is crucial for daily success and continued growth by streamlining production processes, optimizing workflows, and coordinating manufacturing operations. The Production Manager will collaborate with the branch manager to monitor daily processes, allocate resources, and manage departmental budgets. Key responsibilities include overseeing production areas, addressing safety and quality concerns, ensuring order completion deadlines, and enforcing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). The role involves supporting daily efficiency by filling open positions and adjusting schedules, handling data entry, database management, and resolving bottlenecks. Identifying production gaps, performing time management studies for improvement, and coaching the team on proper procedures are also essential. The goal is to increase company profitability and meet targets through fostering connections, providing quality training, and executing improvement strategies.

Requirements

  • 1+ years of professional leadership experience with the ability to train others
  • 21+ years of age (for driving responsibilities)
  • Valid driver's license and a clean driving record
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Basic math skills and the ability to read a tape measure
  • Ability to lift up to 65 lbs. with a team
  • Ability to type 25+ wpm
  • Ability to make sound judgments and decisions aligning with company goals and customer needs
  • Ability to troubleshoot fluid power systems
  • Clear, respectful, and transparent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Organizational skills for multitasking and managing time effectively
  • Technological proficiency with the ability to learn new applications and techniques
  • Mechanical aptitude with an ability to apply principles, understand how tools/machines interact and function together, and diagnose/solve problems
  • Empathetic, calm, and respectful demeanor

Nice To Haves

  • Experience using Microsoft 365 applications and ERP systems, specifically Epicor is preferred.
  • 2+ years of industrial assembly experience would be preferred.
  • Knowledge about industrial sales or fluid power systems would be beneficial.
  • Certifications like OSHA 30-hour, First Aid, CPR, or BBP are highly desired.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all production areas, addressing concerns related to safety, quality, order completion deadlines and deviance from SOPs.
  • Support daily efficiency by promptly filling open roles and adjusting schedules as needed to meet production needs.
  • Handle data entry, database management, and bottleneck resolution.
  • Identify production gaps or issues and perform time management studies to determine areas for improvement.
  • Coach the team on the proper procedures to ensure quality and timeliness expectations are met.
  • Increase company profitability and help meet targets by fostering internal and external connections, providing quality training, and executing improvement strategies.
  • Coordinate with the branch manager to monitor team's daily processes, strategically allocate resources, and keep the department within budget.
  • Streamline production processes, optimize workflows, and coordinate various aspects of the manufacturing process.
