About The Position

Herschend is seeking a savvy and driven Production Manager to lead performance operations for their newest hospitality venture, Dolly Parton’s SongTeller Hotel, located in the heart of Downtown Nashville. The ideal candidate is driven to create meaningful experiences for our hosts, guests, and community while simultaneously ensuring the success & profitability of each performance that takes place on property. The Production Manager position provides a unique opportunity for the right individual to lead the pre-opening efforts for Dolly Parton’s SongTeller Hotel featuring 245 rooms, two F&B Entertainment venues, a market, and Dolly Parton’s Museum. The position is responsible for ensuring the consistent delivery of the brand experience and achieving financial targets and related business KPI’s for the performances. The Production Manager will ensure every artist who graces our stages has an exceptional, seamless experience from advance coordination through performance night. To achieve success in this role, one must drive results while adhering to our Heartspitality® culture. The position will serve as the primary point of contact for artists, managers, and agents in advance of performances, coordinating all technical and hospitality riders. Requirements

  • Requires a minimum of 3-5 years direct job-related experience in live music production, tour management, or venue operations
  • Familiarity with audio/visual equipment and basic sound system operations
  • Deep knowledge of Nashville’s music industry and live music production standards
  • Strong organizational and communication skills with a devotion to detail
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
  • Calm, solutions-oriented demeanor under pressure
  • Genuine ardor for live music and creating unforgettable artist and guest experiences.
  • Must successfully pass a post-employment offer background check.
  • Must have strong computer skills and working knowledge of common industry software such as POS, Micros/Simphony, Outlook, Office, Excel, and Word.
  • Must be able to prioritize and complete work assignments on a timely basis.
  • Must maintain strict confidentiality and judgment regarding privileged information.
  • Must have professional appearance with good personal hygiene.
  • Able to meet the physical demands of the job.

Responsibilities

  • In conjunction with leadership, direct and organize the daily operations of all performances through the property
  • Ensure a positive work environment for all Hosts and high levels of engagement and job satisfaction using company Lead with Love principles and creating a “great place to work for great people.”
  • Distribute and review artist riders, ensuring all production, catering, and hospitality requirements are met prior to arrival
  • Coordinate load- in and load-out schedules, stage plots, and input lists with the venue’s audio/visual team
  • Assist with leading safety efforts for all items related to performances. Ensure compliance with all company, industry, state and federal safety requirements, procedures and standards. These include but are not limited to training, inspections, audits, record keeping, etc.
  • Greet and assist artists and their crew upon arrival, ensuring a warm and professional welcome befitting our venue
  • Oversee sound checks, rehearsals, and stage changeovers to ensure shows run on time and on budget
  • Demonstrates level of proficiency around finances, budgeting, and forecasting activities.
  • Collaborates with hotel operations, food & beverage, and security teams to fulfill artist needs throughout their visit
  • Maintain strong relationships with talent buyers, booking agents, and tour managers
  • Ensure all period-end activities for areas of responsibility are completed and accurate.
  • Work with department and corporate leadership on approved capital upgrade projects and make recommendations for the development of future projects.
  • Maintain project timelines and budgets for various capital upgrades and other special projects
  • Maintain awareness of current audio/visual/lighting technologies and production vendors, with the ability to evaluate and specify the proper equipment for the application
  • Liaises with Finance, Accounting and IT leadership to resolve payroll, cash handling, payables, billing and point of sale issues.
