About The Position

Zenni Optical is seeking a Production Manager to oversee day-to-day production activities, ensuring cost-effective processes, high-quality products, and on-time delivery. This role reports to the Director of the facility and is responsible for Production Shift Supervisors. The Production Manager will collaborate with maintenance teams, the Supply Chain, and Logistics group.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, operations management, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in a production management role, preferably in the consumer goods industry.
  • Strong leadership skills and experience managing a team of production staff.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and experience implementing continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet production deadlines and goals in a fast-paced environment.
  • Plant manufacturing experience.
  • Conflict Resolution, excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to practically implement continuous improvement principles and drive results.
  • Ability to get results when there is no clear path or solution.
  • Ability to strategize and determine where to focus when there are many competing issues/opportunities.
  • Ability to change focus as needed and manage multiple projects at the same time.
  • Strong planning and organization skills.
  • Active listener with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to communicate and present both internally and externally to a diverse audience.

Responsibilities

  • Managing production schedules and ensuring that deadlines are met.
  • Leading, motivating, and developing workforces, and collaborating on objectives for manufacturing that are consistent with Zenni’s business goals and strategies.
  • Supporting product/process improvement efforts as well as stable Production on a day-to-day basis.
  • Overseeing the production process to ensure that it is efficient and meets quality standards.
  • Developing and implementing production policies and procedures.
  • Ensuring that production equipment is maintained and in good working order.
  • Hiring and training production staff, and evaluating their performance.
  • Monitoring production costs and implementing cost-saving measures.
  • Collaborating with other departments to ensure that production goals are aligned with company objectives.
  • Conducting regular safety audits and ensuring that safety protocols are followed.
  • Identifying areas for process improvement and implementing changes to increase efficiency.
  • Maintaining accurate production records and reports.
  • Working with teams to identify and resolve issues and identifying opportunities to continuously improve results.
  • Utilizing the fundamentals of continuous improvement to identify opportunities in safety, productivity, and cost and drive results in these areas.
  • Driving change, improve safety, improve production processes, reduce costs, and address quality issues.
  • Achieve Plant Safety, Health and Environmental (SHE) Standards and world class SHE performance.
  • Identify, address, and resolve production process issues and/or lead the facility into new areas of process improvement.
  • Support the global business needs for strategic goals and objective.
  • Ensure accuracy of data and adherence to management systems and processes.
  • Developing new processes and procedures for all facets of production.
  • Assessing and implement analytical methods and tools to increase productivity, decrease variability and reduce safety risks.
  • Solving operational problems using problem solving techniques and continuous improvement tools.
