The Production Manager is a key member of the Mebane Operations team. The Production Manager is responsible for managing operations within the department to include people, safety, quality and production and ensuring established goals and objectives are met. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 3 - 5 years of production management experience in manufacturing environment required.
  • Ability to excel in a cross-cultural, global team environment.
  • Possesses professional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Solid understanding of statistical process control and world class manufacturing techniques.
  • Knowledge of rubber processing: mixing, curing, extrusion and foaming.
  • Proven ability to lead effective teams and manage others.
  • Computer skills in Excel, Word and Powerpoint required.
  • Understanding of Lean and CI Concepts.
  • Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for Armacell in the US

Responsibilities

  • Drive safety and ensure operations safety measures and procedures are being followed by production employees.
  • Establish goals and objectives for direct reports through the Annual Performance Development Review process
  • Evaluate department operations to ensure production quality metrics are met.
  • Ensure the achievement of all production requirements, product quality requirements, on time delivery, all at budgeted levels.
  • Assist in establishing the operation budget for manufacturing and executing that budget.
  • Lead cost reduction projects to drive down costs and improve plant profitability.
  • Effectively manage employees in departmental operations.
  • Monitor equipment and production while utilizing maintenance support to manage operations.
  • Coordinate production scheduling with Plant Planner to drive timely delivery of products.
  • Establish work schedules, assignments, and production sequences to meet production goals.
  • Coordinate with Human Resources on production staffing needs and team training.
  • Benchmark industry best practices to identify future improvements and opportunities.
  • Create and maintain updates of standard operating procedures.
  • Maintains a high level of visibility on the plant floor level to ensure World Class Manufacturing systems are integrated into the production process and daily work practices.
  • Recommends design concepts, materials, manufacturing processes, and components for new and existing products.
  • Assist in training employees in World Class Manufacturing pillars, problem solving tools and methods
  • Review financial statements, sales or activity reports, or other performance data to measure productivity or goal achievement and identify areas needing cost reduction or program improvement.
