About The Position

The Production Manager plans, directs, and coordinates the work activities and resources needed to manufacture products in accordance with cost, quality, and quantity specifications. This includes supervising and coordinating production and operating workers, such as inspectors, precision workers, machine setters and operators, assemblers, fabricators, and plant and system operators. The role directs production, processing, distribution, and marketing activities; makes decisions about inventory, staffing, work procedures, and duty assignments; and develops production tracking and quality-control systems. The manager also oversees staff, product standards, production reporting, facility and equipment maintenance recommendations, inventory and cost-control programs, and employee involvement initiatives. The role also requires effective communication with supervisors, peers, and subordinates; adherence to operating procedures, quality processes, safety procedures, and company policies; and participation in departmental and company-wide quality activities. The position is bonus eligible, with a salary target range of $130,000–$150,000.

Responsibilities

Direct and coordinate production, processing, distribution, and marketing activities of the industrial organization.
Review processing schedules and production orders and determine inventory and staffing requirements, work procedures, and duty assignments within budget and time constraints.
Develop and implement production tracking and quality-control systems; analyze operational reports to detect and resolve production or processing problems.
Hire, train, evaluate, and discharge staff, and resolve personnel grievances.
Set and monitor product standards by examining raw-product samples or directing testing during processing.
Prepare and maintain production reports and personnel records.
Coordinate and recommend procedures for facility and equipment maintenance or modification, including machine replacement.
Initiate and coordinate inventory and cost-control programs.
Institute employee suggestion or involvement programs.
Communicate information to supervisors and coworkers in writing or in person.
Maintain good attendance and punctuality.
Learn all manual tasks performed within the department.
Perform assigned tasks using operating procedures and department-specific quality-control processes.
Treat people with dignity and respect and conduct business with integrity.
Adhere to Rust-Oleum Corporation quality principles and participate in departmental and company-wide quality activities.
