Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of six (6) years of experience as a Production Supervisor in manufacturing environment or Associate degree and a minimum of eight (8) years of experience as a Production Supervisor in a manufacturing environment or an equivalent combination of education and experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency using MS Office Suite.
  • Ability to work 2nd Shift (2:00PM-10:00PM, Monday-Friday) as well as weekend overtime as needed to support production.

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring that the assigned production area is operated in the most profitable and efficient basis and with the correct level of quality.
  • Maintaining the safety of the area, scheduling assignments, line balancing, evaluation and control of build, monitoring of fulfillment of customer production and quality requirements, control of scrap and rework, efficiency, application of overtime, and documentation of these activities.
  • Acting as primary contact for in-house departments for production related issues in assigned area.
  • Directly supervising the Production Supervisors.
  • Directing Production Supervisors in the plant and coordinating production work through familiarity with all manufacturing processes.
  • Maintaining a continual awareness of safety, quality, efficiency, scrap and production schedules.
  • Motivating and directing the training of Production Supervisors, training and developing individuals, instilling in them a sense of responsibility, and evaluating them on their progress.
  • Analyzing and determining staffing requirements, studying daily operating results, meeting daily with subordinates, and consulting with supervisors on solutions to production problems, ensuring that problems have been corrected.
  • Maintaining cooperation between departments.
  • Ensuring safe work practices are followed by all manufacturing personnel, informing employees of deficiencies and violations and taking corrective action, if necessary, to ensure that procedures and practices are being followed.
  • Assisting in maintaining OSHA compliance on the plant floor and providing safety training on a continuous basis.
  • Ensuring correct distribution of staff and assisting with training for all new or transferred employees.
  • Coordinating temporary staff requirements.
  • Working with leadership and CI/MFG. Engineering to develop a roadmap for continuous improvement in the assigned area for processes and productivity.
  • Driving the JCMS - Johnson Controls Manufacturing System - throughout the plant, implementing and sustaining this culture with continuous training and development of hourly production personnel in the manufacturing principles and governing behaviors.
  • Supporting and leading 5S activities throughout the manufacturing facility to continuously improve the 5S score.
  • Leading Kaizen events and performing Lean training for the production personnel in the assigned area.
  • Driving formal problem-solving methods in the production floor with production personnel to drive a culture of continuous improvement and quality, and controlling scrap and rework, and providing quality product to the customer.
  • Understanding financial reporting and driving improvements based on KPI goals.
  • Authorizing and evaluating the overtime requirement for production employees.
  • Assisting in mediation of personnel problems and conducting disciplinary action when required.
  • Monitoring customer production requirements and coordinating schedule adjustments when required.
  • Monitoring and ensuring documentation of employee attendance records.
