Under the direction of the Plant Manager, the Production Manager is responsible for the overall shift production, PPOH, Quality, Customer Relations, Housekeeping, Security, Safety, and maintaining and developing the workforce. This role involves fiscal management of shift operations, direct cost control, and vendor relations. The Production Manager oversees daily monitoring of payroll and labor costs, ensuring cost-effective plant operations while maintaining a safe work environment. They act as a direct liaison with the Engineering manager for equipment upkeep and safety, and are responsible for plant safety and regulatory compliance. This includes ensuring all new hires and employees receive regulatory and job-specific training, as well as safety procedures. The role also involves assisting customers with emergencies, understanding production costing and laundry design, and contributing to the annual budget forecast and approval process. Performance reviews, disciplinary procedures, and terminations are also key responsibilities. Maintaining PPOH at expected levels, training and developing all assigned personnel, and preparing work schedules based on forecasted production volumes are crucial. Additionally, the Production Manager develops action and development plans for the supervisory team, oversees utility and supply management, and works with the operations manager to identify new labor opportunities.
