About The Position

We are seeking a dynamic results oriented Production Manager to join our Insulation Greer, SC team. The Production Manager will ensure the plant meets profitable production goals and quality standards while remaining within budget limitations. This role acts as an interface between plant management and production staff, leading continuous improvement programs and manufacturing process improvements using Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other problem-solving methodologies. The Production Manager will develop production schedules and make strategic decisions to adjust programs when time or budget constraints are encountered. They will organize and cross-train worker teams to maximize production flexibility and operational efficiency, and implement and monitor KPIs to assess, analyze, and track manufacturing processes against established goals and objectives. Additionally, the Production Manager will inspect machines and equipment to ensure optimal operational performance, consult with Engineering and Maintenance on necessary modifications, and establish and enforce comprehensive safety guidelines and procedures. This includes conducting monthly safety meetings, overseeing safety training, investigating accidents, and ensuring regulatory compliance. The role also involves managing the full employment lifecycle for production personnel, including hiring, training, performance evaluation, and disciplinary actions, while fostering workforce accountability and continuous learning through goal-setting, employee empowerment, regular feedback, and one-on-one coaching. Employee concerns and grievances will be addressed in coordination with Human Resources and Plant Management, and production costs will be monitored to identify opportunities for reduction in steps, time, and material waste.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field, OR 5+ years of progressive leadership/management experience in manufacturing
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Written and verbal communication skills
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
  • Knowledge of health, safety standards, and regulatory compliance
  • Experience with budgeting, capital equipment analysis, and cost accounting
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or similar continuous improvement methodologies
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills with ability to balance competing priorities and meet deadlines
