About The Position

The Production Manager is responsible for ensuring that all production activities adhere to health, sanitation, and quality standards set by the company, food industry, and government regulatory agencies. This includes overseeing proper product labeling and coding for delivery. The role involves coordinating shifts and scheduling to meet production demands, ensuring the area of responsibility is well-organized, adequately staffed, and that all delivery times are met efficiently. The manager is also tasked with identifying inefficiencies and proposing improvements. In a supervisory capacity, the Production Manager selects, trains, and develops staff on job responsibilities, including the safe operation of machinery, to cultivate an effective and qualified production team. They supervise personnel to ensure food production and assembly comply with applicable regulations, monitor department productivity, and implement changes for continuous improvement. The role also involves ensuring the workforce performs safely, using equipment correctly, and making recommendations to enhance production and prevent injuries. Additionally, the manager conducts work group meetings to communicate production and business rules, sets job expectations, and handles coaching, counseling, and disciplinary actions as needed, while maintaining quality through enforcing organizational production and safety standards.

Requirements

  • Bilingual Spanish is required for the ability to communicate effectively with production staff.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure that production meets health, sanitation, and quality standards set by the company, food industry and government regulatory agencies.
  • Ensures product is properly labeled and coded as required for delivery.
  • Coordinates shifts and arranges schedules to meet production needs.
  • Ensures area of responsibility is properly organized, staffed and directed and that all delivery times are being met in a timely fashion.
  • Identifies issues in efficiency and suggests improvement.
  • Selects, trains, and develops staff on job responsibilities including the safe use of the machinery to produce an effective, efficient, qualified production staff.
  • Supervises personnel to ensure food is produced and assembled in accordance with applicable regulations.
  • Monitors department work productivity and recommends and implements changes to continually improve work productivity.
  • Ensures that production workforce is performing their functions safely and using equipment in a safe manner.
  • Makes recommendations for changes or improvement, when necessary, to increase production and prevent injuries/accidents.
  • Conducts work group meetings, as needed to communicate necessary production and business rules and regulations.
  • Communicates job expectations to staff and conducts coaching, counseling and disciplinary sessions as needed.
