About The Position

The Production Manager is responsible for assisting the Director of Maintenance (DMO) in the execution of his or her duties. The Production Manager maintains direct oversight of each heavy check project, supporting the check plan for each. He or she is responsible for ensuring that all policies, procedures, and maintenance functions comply with the applicable FARs and procedures specified in the RSQCM. He or she works in direct liaison with the Planning Manager and Manager of Quality Control to ensure that adequate parts/material, tooling, and maintenance and inspection personnel are available for each project. The Production Manager is the direct liaison with customer representatives, ensuring that customer requirements are supported. The Production Manager has the authority to: Direct all Maintenance Department personnel in accordance with Avmax policies and procedures. Take disciplinary measures concerning personnel in the department (excluding termination). Override the decisions of the Lead Technicians, as necessary, to direct internal department corrective action within each project.

Requirements

Minimum 3 years as Project Manager
Minimum 3 years of Personnel Management experience
Minimum 5 years working in Aviation roles
Demonstrated capability in managing, motivating and mentoring others.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to work well with other individuals throughout the organization.
Demonstrated ability to work with predictive budgets.
Possesses fundamental aircraft knowledge.
Must possess appropriate certification meeting the requirements of 14 CFR Part 65 and 14 CFR 145.153 to supervise certificated mechanics.

Responsibilities

Act as a Lead Technician if a Lead Technician is not available to support a heavy check project.
Ensure timely accomplishment of repairs in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions and repair station policies and procedures.
Monitor progress of aircraft repairs to ensure efficient and economical procedures are utilized.
Ensure that personnel under his or her jurisdiction are qualified for the work to which they are assigned.
Ensure that personnel are performing maintenance to manufacturer's approved standards using approved data or information identified as acceptable to the Administrator.
Coordinate inspection and repairs with the Director of Quality (or designee(s)).
Respond to or ensure response to audit findings reports resulting from internal and customer audit activity when assigned by the DMO.
Liaise with assigned customer or factory representatives for maintenance projects.
Maintain necessary administrative records and forms according to Avmax policies and procedures.
Ensure adequate facilities, tooling, and equipment are available and used for maintenance projects.
Ensure the hangar, ramp areas, and all equipment under his or her jurisdiction are clean and in an orderly condition.
Evaluate manpower utilization and maintenance procedures and implement improvements to increase production and efficiency.
Determine the adequacy of spare parts and material supplies to properly maintain the aircraft and its components.
Report deficiencies and corrective action regarding heavy check projects and the hangar.
Perform other duties and responsibilities, as delegated.
