About The Position

Hidden Hills Animal Hospital in Jacksonville, FL is seeking a veterinarian to join their experienced, collaborative team. Established in 1985, Hidden Hills Animal Hospital is a well-established practice serving a loyal community of clients. They see approximately 70% small animal and 30% exotic patients, offering a unique opportunity to practice both general medicine and exotic medicine and surgery. The hospital features 6 exam rooms, 2 treatment areas, a dedicated surgical suite, cattery and 3 kennel areas, a monitored recovery area, and a bereavement room. The practice is paperless using EzyVet and PetDesk. Doctors have access to advanced equipment including digital radiology/IDEXX DR system, dental X-ray, ultrasound, therapeutic laser, Class 4 surgical laser, IDEXX ProCyte, Catalyst, and SediVue, WebPACS, and new surgical lights and wet table. The team is collaborative and supportive, with many long-term staff members. They prioritize work-life balance and enjoy monthly trivia nights and quarterly potlucks. The team has special interests in low-stress handling and feline medicine, and the practice is a Cat Friendly Practice. They proudly support local organizations including Bebette's Bunny Rescue, Harry's Happy Hideaway, and K-9s For Warriors. New graduates are welcome, as the Chief of Staff is a Certified Mentor and committed to a high-quality learning environment. New graduates will receive support with longer appointment times, 1-on-1 mentorship, individualized surgical training, and a gradual transition to a routine schedule.

Requirements

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or equivalent degree.
  • Experience or willingness to learn exotic medicine and surgery.
  • Proficiency with or ability to learn EzyVet and PetDesk.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Interest in low-stress handling and feline medicine is a plus.
  • Commitment to supporting local animal rescue organizations.
