About The Position

Miller Industries is seeking a Production Manager for our location in Fenton, Michigan. The Production Manager is responsible for overseeing daily production operations to ensure efficiency, quality, safety, and productivity. This role leads production teams, manages workflow and resources, and implements continuous improvement initiatives to meet company goals. The Production Manager plays a critical role in driving on-time delivery, minimizing downtime, and optimizing labor and material usage.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, Business, or related field preferred (or equivalent work experience).
  • 5+ years of experience in a production or manufacturing environment, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate teams effectively.
  • Strong understanding of production workflows, equipment, and quality assurance processes.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Knowledge of MS Office, and other computer systems supporting the Company's operational needs.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies is a plus.
  • Experience using Global Shop Solutions ERP system is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize, and direct production schedules and resources to meet daily, weekly, and monthly targets.
  • Monitor production activities to ensure products are manufactured on time, within budget, and to quality standards.
  • Enforce company policies and safety regulations to maintain a clean and safe working environment.
  • Lead, train, and develop production staff, including supervisors and line employees, to achieve performance goals.
  • Identify and resolve production issues or bottlenecks promptly to minimize downtime and disruption.
  • Collaborate with maintenance, quality, logistics, and engineering teams to ensure seamless operations.
  • Monitor KPIs and use data to drive operational improvements in efficiency, scrap reduction, and labor productivity.
  • Support implementation of Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Manage production inventory levels and coordinate with supply chain to avoid material shortages or excesses.
  • Maintain accurate and timely reporting of production performance, incidents, and deviations.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, environmental, and internal safety protocols.
