About The Position

Vermont Hard Cider Company has an opening for an experienced Production Manager to lead daily 2nd Shift production operations at our Middlebury, VT manufacturing facility. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who enjoys being close to the floor, coaching employees, solving problems in real time, and helping a team perform at its best. We are looking for a proven production leader with manufacturing experience and prior supervisory responsibility. The 2nd shift production leader will directly influence how the team performs each night. Their leadership will help set the tone for safety, quality, communication, accountability, and employee engagement. This role is ideal for a proven manufacturing supervisor or production leader who can build trust with employees, keep operations moving, and make confident decisions in a live production environment. Requirements

  • 5+ years of manufacturing experience, preferably in food, beverage, CPG, or another regulated production environment.
  • 2+ years of supervisory experience leading production employees, assigning work, coaching performance, and maintaining accountability.
  • Strong floor presence, communication skills, judgment, organization, and follow-through.
  • Experience using schedules, labor planning, production metrics, and shift reporting to support decisions and improve performance.

Responsibilities

  • Daily 2nd shift production execution, including safety, quality, staffing, output, communication, and issue escalation.
  • Direct supervision, coaching, follow-up, and accountability for production employees.
  • Real-time problem solving with production, quality, maintenance, sanitation, and support teams.
  • Consistent execution of safety practices, GMPs, SOPs, quality standards, and company policies.
  • A respectful, accountable shift culture where employees know expectations and feel supported.
