About The Position

The Production Manager is responsible for organizing, planning, coordinating, and staffing the Production department. This role is accountable for meeting production, quality, and safety targets. The manager will directly manage, coach, and develop all department personnel, including performance management, coaching, discipline, and input into hiring and termination decisions. The position requires managing the department in a cost-effective manner through sound production planning and resource allocation, and exercising independent judgment in production scheduling, staffing, and operational decision-making. Responsibilities also include maintaining necessary tools, equipment, and supplies, reviewing production records for accuracy and performance tracking, and identifying and implementing process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce costs. The role will assist and recommend in equipment acquisition, upgrades, and process improvements, and is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and organization of machining shop areas. Generating non-compliance reports, initiating corrective and preventative actions, and maintaining and promoting a safe working environment in accordance with HSE procedures are also key duties. The Production Manager must comply with all NOV Company and Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental policies and procedures, and ensure alignment with company objectives and operational goals. Other duties may be assigned by the Plant Manager.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 5+ years experience in production and/or manufacturing environment
  • 2–5 years experience in a supervisory or management role
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment and make sound operational decisions
  • Effective communication skills (verbal and written) across all organizational levels
  • Team building and employee development
  • Computer literacy (including Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Must be able to do extensive walking, bending, stooping, and moderate to heavy lifting

Nice To Haves

  • Oilfield equipment manufacturing knowledge preferred
  • Working knowledge of Lean tools and methodologies preferred
