About The Position

Hartmann Canada Inc, in Brantford, Ontario is a division of Hartmann North America. We are the world leader of moulded fibre egg cartons. The demand for moulded fibre and environmentally sustainable products is rapidly increasing. Hartmann has committed and invested in this area to meet the growing demand of our products. We require a Production Manager for our Brantford, Ontario location. The Production Manager is accountable for the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of the Hartmann Brantford manufacturing facility. This role provides oversight to Production Supervisors and hourly associates. The role operates as a key member of the site leadership team, partnering cross-functionally to drive continuous improvement and operational excellence in a dynamic 24/7 operation.

Requirements

  • Post-secondary education in Engineering, Business or other related fields
  • Must have 5+ years' experience managing supervisory staff and proven leadership in a high-volume manufacturing unionized environment (automotive preferred).
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations, GMPs, and continuous improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma).
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams and driving operational excellence.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word) and familiarity with ERP systems.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with Hartmann Safety Standards, Occupational Health & Safety Act and local regulations. Manage and reinforce in a proactive way safety programs and maintain an exemplary safety record.
  • Oversee quality control systems, implement change management, track metrics.
  • Achieve production targets through efficient resource management and waste reduction. Support the implementation of continuous improvement programs (Lean, Six Sigma, TPM, Kaizen) to enhance productivity and reduce costs.
  • Lead and mentor production supervisors and hourly associates, fostering a culture of accountability and collaboration.
  • Maintain positive labour relations and ensure compliance with the collective agreement. Encourage open communication and engagement to build trust and resolve conflicts constructively. Participate in investigations, discipline processes, and grievance discussions as required.
  • Partner with Maintenance, Quality Assurance, Supply Chain, HR teams among others to ensure seamless operations. Support asset management initiatives, including preventive maintenance and reliability programs.
