About The Position

Audiochuck is seeking a highly organized and proactive Production Manager to join The Deck. This role oversees the day-to-day production operations for Audiochuck’s flagship investigative series, ensuring all phases of production, from pre-production through final delivery, are executed efficiently, on schedule, and at the highest quality standards. The Production Manager serves as the operational backbone of the show, coordinating timelines, managing workflows, and supporting cross-functional collaboration across reporting, editorial, audio, video, and post-production teams. This role requires a detail-oriented leader who can manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining clear communication and strong execution. The ideal candidate has experience in podcast, documentary, or unscripted production environments and thrives in fast-paced storytelling settings where coordination and problem-solving are critical.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Media Production, Communications, Journalism, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered
  • 5–8+ years of production management experience in podcasting, documentary, or unscripted media
  • Experience managing multiple projects and complex timelines in fast-paced environments
  • Experience collaborating cross-functionally with editorial, production, and post-production teams
  • Strong project management and organizational skills
  • Clear and confident communication across teams
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and tight deadlines
  • Proactive problem-solving mindset
  • Experience using project management tools such as Wrike or Airtable
  • High attention to detail and ability to manage complex workflows

  • Experience in investigative or narrative storytelling environments preferred

Responsibilities

  • Oversee production timelines to ensure all phases of development remain on schedule
  • Coordinate pre-production, production, and post-production activities across multiple episodes
  • Develop and maintain production calendars, tracking deliverables and deadlines
  • Ensure production resources are allocated effectively
  • Manage workflows across reporting, editorial, audio, video, and post-production teams
  • Track episode progress at each stage and flag risks or delays early
  • Implement systems to improve production efficiency and organization
  • Ensure all assets and deliverables are properly tracked and managed
  • Serve as the central coordination point between reporting, production, editorial, and post teams
  • Facilitate communication across departments to ensure alignment on timelines and priorities
  • Support the Executive Producer in executing show-level production priorities
  • Collaborate with marketing and social teams to align production schedules with promotional efforts
  • Identify and resolve production challenges in real time
  • Manage daily operational needs of the production team
  • Support logistics related to reporting, interviews, and field production as needed
  • Ensure adherence to Audiochuck production standards and best practices
  • Ensure episodes meet quality standards for storytelling and technical execution
  • Coordinate final delivery across audio, video, and digital platforms
  • Maintain consistency in production quality across episodes
