Under the direction of the Plant Manager, the Production Manager is responsible for the overall shift production, PPOH, Quality, Customer Relations, Housekeeping, Security, Safety, and maintaining and developing the workforce. This role involves fiscal management of shift operations, cost control, and vendor relations. The Production Manager oversees daily monitoring of payroll and labor costs, ensuring cost-effective plant operations while maintaining a safe work environment. They act as a liaison with the Engineering manager for equipment upkeep and safety, and are responsible for reporting operating data and key indicators. The role also includes ensuring plant safety, regulatory compliance, and providing necessary training to new hires and existing employees. Customer assistance during emergencies, understanding production costing and laundry design, and contributing to the annual budget forecast are also key aspects. Performance reviews, disciplinary procedures, and managing employee schedules are part of the responsibilities. Additionally, the Production Manager oversees utility and supply management, warehouse and inventory, and works with operations management to identify new labor opportunities.
