About The Position

Green Lake Nursery is seeking an experienced and motivated Production Manager to lead daily nursery production operations and drive efficiency, quality, safety, and team performance. This leadership role is responsible for overseeing production activities, including transplanting, sticking, potting, and related production-line operations while ensuring production schedules are completed on time and according to company standards.

Requirements

• 5+ years of leadership experience in a production, nursery, agriculture, horticulture, manufacturing, or related environment preferred.
• Strong experience with production scheduling, labor planning, inventory management, quality control, and team leadership.
• Knowledge of purchasing processes, supplier coordination, and material forecasting preferred.
• Strong organizational, communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, seasonal production environment.

Nice To Haves

• Bilingual English/Spanish communication skills preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise production teams and crew leaders in daily nursery operations.
• Plan, coordinate, and execute production schedules while managing labor, equipment, and materials.
• Oversee production supply purchasing, inventory levels, forecasting, and vendor coordination.
• Ensure product quality, inventory accuracy, and timely completion of production goals.
• Partner with Growing, Logistics, Inventory, Maintenance, and other departments to maintain efficient workflow.
• Monitor productivity, labor utilization, material usage, and operational performance metrics.
• Train, coach, and develop employees while fostering a positive, accountable team culture.
• Champion workplace safety through training, hazard identification, and compliance with company procedures.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives that enhance productivity, quality, and cost efficiency.
