About The Position

Caterpillar is seeking an off-shift Production Manager to work onsite five days a week in Decatur, Illinois. The role oversees and coordinates a complex production line, with a focus on meeting safety and quality standards. The manager prepares schedules, resolves operational issues, and maintains documentation related to operating procedures. Relocation assistance is offered; visa sponsorship is not available. Travel is up to 5%.

Requirements

Proven experience in production management, preferably in a complex production environment.
Strong understanding of safety and quality standards in a production setting.
Excellent leadership and team management skills.
Ability to create and maintain detailed production-process documentation.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to resolve issues efficiently.

Nice To Haves

Experience with Lean Manufacturing principles and practices.

Responsibilities

Create reports and records covering production processes, tool issues, performance, and inventory; share them with managers and suggest improvements to safety, productivity, and quality.
Prepare, maintain, and update documentation related to operating procedures and safety and quality standards, ensuring processes and products meet the required standards.
Supervise and direct the daily activities of production line workers, assign tasks, coordinate teams, ensure worker safety, and monitor performance.
Train new hires and manage scheduling so team members are equipped to perform their duties effectively.
Collaborate with various departments to support smooth production operations and resolve issues.
