Position Purpose Lead production operations by fostering a culture of safety, quality, continuous improvement, and operational excellence. Provide strategic and day-to-day leadership to production teams, ensuring service, cost, productivity, and customer requirements are achieved while driving sustainable business growth and employee engagement

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Engineering, Business Management, or a related field.
  • 7-10 years of progressive experience in manufacturing, distribution, warehousing, or supply chain operations.
  • 3-5 years of leadership experience managing teams in a fast-paced operational environment.
  • Proven success leading continuous improvement initiatives and delivering measurable operational results.
  • Experience managing budgets, labour planning, productivity, and operational performance metrics.
  • Health and Safety experience with a strong commitment to fostering a safety-first culture.
  • Strong knowledge of labour relations and employment legislation.
  • Expertise in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Root Cause Analysis, 5S, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Financial acumen with experience managing budgets, forecasting, and cost-reduction initiatives.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and ability to leverage data to drive business decisions.
  • Excellent leadership, coaching, mentoring, and succession planning skills.
  • Ability to influence stakeholders and build effective relationships across all levels of the organization.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Bilingualism : French and English (required)

Nice To Haves

  • Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma certification preferred.
  • Health & Safety certification is considered an asset.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams through change and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Experience working in a unionized manufacturing environment preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise, develop and coach team members to meet production targets, ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards.
  • Lead continuous improvement efforts through data analysis, root cause identification, and the implementation of corrective and systemic change plans.
  • Oversee all quality-related issues during shifts, ensuring ownership, resolution, and proactive measures to prevent recurrence.
  • Champion a zero-harm culture by identifying areas of safety weakness, developing improvement plans, and ensuring compliance with safety protocols.
  • Lead root cause analysis for incidents occurring during shifts, implementing preventative measures and corrective actions as necessary.
  • Monitor and ensure consistent, timely responses to safety and production-related concerns, driving accountability across all shift activities.
  • Promote a culture of operational excellence by setting clear expectations for performance, safety, and continuous improvement on a shift basis.
  • Foster and maintain a safe work environment with a focus on Zero Harm principles.
  • Support short and long-term operational strategies, ensuring budget targets, cost initiatives, and capacity planning objectives are achieved.
  • Monitor conditioning plans, inventory levels, and plant utilization to meet customer demand.
  • Manage site performance and implement strategies to improve operational efficiency and productivity.
  • Drive a culture of continuous improvement through LEAN, Six Sigma, and operational excellence initiatives.
  • Ensure completion of quality, operations excellence, and audit processes.
  • Investigate quality and service incidents, implement corrective actions, and reduce operational failures.
  • Lead, coach, and develop frontline leaders while supporting succession planning and recruitment activities.
  • Implement data-driven process improvements using root cause analysis, risk assessments, and best-practice methodologies.
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies, regulatory requirements, and Health & Safety standards.
  • Develop and execute workforce plans to support operational and business objectives.
  • Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify trends and drive corrective actions.
