About The Position

Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will lead and oversee plant production operations to deliver safe, high‑quality products while meeting cost, labor, and production objectives. You will guide frontline leaders, coordinate resources, and partner closely with Human Resources and cross‑functional teams to support a safe, efficient, and continuously improving manufacturing environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Biology, Industrial Management, or a related field from a four‑year college or university.
  • 4+ years of production management experience, ideally within the food industry.
  • 3+ years of supervisory experience managing performance, staffing decisions, and metric accountability.
  • Experience solving practical problems involving multiple variables in situations with limited standardization.
  • Experience reviewing and interpreting business publications, technical procedures, and governmental regulations.
  • Experience preparing reports, business correspondence, and procedural documentation.
  • Experience presenting information and responding to questions from managers, customers, and other stakeholders.
  • Experience applying basic algebra and geometry concepts.
  • Experience interpreting written, verbal, diagram, and schedule‑based instructions.

Responsibilities

  • Lead food safety and quality execution across all production areas.
  • Direct production line supervision to ensure products meet company specifications and production goals.
  • Allocate labor resources to meet or exceed company performance standards.
  • Oversee cleanliness and organization of plant production areas.
  • Ensure compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Administration requirements and company policies.
  • Ensure team members are trained on job requirements and safety expectations.
  • Communicate critical operational information across shifts and levels of plant leadership.
  • Monitor ingredient usage to plant standards while maintaining quality objectives.
  • Partner with maintenance and engineering to align production and equipment needs.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance safety, cost effectiveness, and product quality.
  • Maintain a safe work environment and support site safety programs.
  • Ensure safety awareness and training are delivered by frontline supervisors.
  • Report ingredient usage and labor data to support costing and recall readiness.
  • Share key performance metrics with frontline supervisors to promote continuous improvement.
  • Partner with Human Resources on interviews, hiring, performance discussions, corrective counseling, and development planning.
