About The Position

Bland Landscaping Company is seeking a results-driven, hands-on Commercial Landscape Maintenance Production Manager to lead our field supervisors and maintenance crews. In this critical leadership role, your primary focus will be managing safety, quality control, and labor hours as they pertain to our contracted commercial maintenance accounts. You will act as the driving force behind our field efficiency, bridging the gap between operations and administration, while fostering a strong culture of teamwork, proper horticulture, and safety.

Requirements

  • Valid North Carolina Driver's License with a clean driving record is required.
  • Must possess an NC Pesticide Applicator’s License, or have the ability to obtain one shortly after hire.
  • Must be able to pass a standard criminal background check and maintain a clean record.
  • Strong communication skills with a proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop diverse field crews.

Nice To Haves

  • A 2-year college degree is preferred (ideally in Horticulture, Turfgrass Management, Agribusiness, or a related field).

Responsibilities

  • Supervise, train, and mentor maintenance field supervisors and crew members on all aspects of commercial landscape maintenance services.
  • Conduct comprehensive site inspections on every assigned property at least once every two weeks to guarantee our high quality standards are met.
  • Promote proper horticultural practices across all teams through continuous on-the-job training.
  • Monitor and maintain on-site irrigation controllers, coordinating repairs as needed.
  • Ensure all field operations are conducted safely. Lead and participate in regular crew safety meetings and enforce the proper use of required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Provide accurate labor hour and material budgets to field crews to guide daily production.
  • Utilize the BOSS LM software system to manage daily scheduling, track job issues, and verify the integrity of timesheets and work orders.
  • Monitor equipment inventory, coordinate preventative maintenance schedules with the Operations Manager, and ensure all tools are properly serviced.
  • Drive company vehicles safely and collaborate with other managers to handle shifting seasonal demands, including managing snow removal operations during winter months.
  • Assist with daily facility lock-up and yard security.
  • Work closely with the HR Manager to interview, hire, orient, and train new field staff and participate in our student internship training programs.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews for field supervisors and crew members.
  • Document attendance issues, tardiness, or other necessary disciplinary actions while consistently enforcing company policies.
  • Collaborate daily with the Account Management staff regarding job site progress, updates, and field issues.
  • Maintain exceptional on-site communications and professional relations with clients, contractors, and subcontractors.
  • Proactively identify enhancement and extra-work opportunities on job sites to support branch sales goals.
