About The Position

The Production Maintenance Technician at the Central Fulfillment Center is responsible for all equipment support. This role involves performing a mix of preventive and corrective maintenance across mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and building systems. Daily tasks include diagnosing issues, replacing parts, inspecting machinery, and executing repairs using hand and power tools. The technician also contributes to emergency repairs, facility upkeep, and continuous improvement efforts to reduce downtime and maintain operational standards. This involves working closely with the IT Specialist to ensure optimal conditions for production equipment as well as peripherals, i.e., printers, scanners, and sensors. This will involve training and collaboration with the pharmacy automation vendor and sub-vendors who provide compressors, conveyors, and other equipment that support the production line. The Production Maintenance Technician would be troubleshooting, testing, and resolving equipment issues along with the vendor technicians. The role will also include site point-of-contact duties for a variety of maintenance tasks. The position will be based in Irving, TX. The role provides support for a production facility that operates Sunday-Saturday on two shifts from 6:00 AM to 11:00 PM. Flexibility will be required. A typical 40-hour work week with occasional overtime is to be expected depending on production needs/maintenance project work.

Nice To Haves

  • 1 year experience in a mechanical support role in a distribution center or production line environment.
  • 2-year technical degree or equivalent experience working on conveyor system, industrial maintenance, robotics, fork truck operation experience/certification
  • Experience working with MS Office
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Performs maintenance and repair functions including automated and mechanized material handling equipment (conveyors, balers, etc.), general building repairs (lights, plumbing, doors, etc.).
  • Act as site facilities maintenance point-of-contact for Vendor and Albertsons Technical Teams for the installation, configuration, routine maintenance, and ongoing usability of all equipment on site.
  • Provide advanced support to maintain production equipment and maximize equipment up time and reliability. Trouble shoot and repair equipment in a timely manner to return equipment to full production capability. Partners with vendors to resolve issues as needed.
  • Identify and research technical problems of varying complexity and follow through to resolution.
  • Manage all equipment to ensure reliability, performance, security, and longevity, which includes installing, troubleshooting, and repairing equipment.
  • Perform minor maintenance tasks on site equipment, office furniture, etc. Will coordinate and partner with appropriate vendors/contractors to address more involved maintenance project work.
  • Perform preventive maintenance work as needed.
  • Maintain appropriate inventories of spare parts and manage warranties, as well as vendor preventative maintenance visits for all equipment at the site.
  • Reports to the General Manager and collaborates with the IT Specialist to ensure an optimal, technical environment to support the production line.
  • Create and manage a safe environment around equipment for the team – including fork truck operation and maintenance.
  • Accurately log/document all issues and work efforts.
  • Assist with the creation and maintenance of technical documents.
  • Clean and maintain areas around sensitive equipment.
  • Other duties as assigned concurrent with all applicable laws and regulations.
