About The Position

Pratt & Whitney is seeking a Production Machinist/Processor C for the 3rd Shift. This role is onsite and requires U.S. citizenship. The company is focused on designing, building, and servicing advanced aircraft engines. This position involves working with various machine tools and performing assembly and finishing operations to meet dimensional specifications and produce finished parts. The role also includes operating part-marking and surface conditioning equipment, applying coatings, and using measuring instruments to ensure quality. Additionally, the position requires operating computer-based systems for record-keeping and performing routine equipment servicing. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 1-3 years of machining experience
  • U.S. citizenship is required

Responsibilities

  • Work from verbal and written instructions, operation sheets, drawings, and other pertinent information.
  • Follow established methods and procedures using manual or numerically controlled machine tools (milling, boring, grinding, turning, broaching, shaping) to achieve required dimensional specifications.
  • Recognize and replace dull or damaged cutting tools.
  • Perform bench, assembly, and surface finishing operations (deburring, blending, trimming, fitting) using hand and power tools.
  • Perform drilling, riveting, and bonding operations to assemble details into finished parts.
  • Operate part-marking equipment.
  • Perform cleaning, part preparation, and finishing operations using various media (dry or liquid).
  • Operate tumbling, grit blast, shot peen, buffing, polishing equipment, wash machines, and dip tanks for part surface conditioning.
  • Apply masking as required.
  • Perform applications of anti-gall and polymite coatings and utilize dry bake ovens for curing.
  • Utilize fixed or variable measuring instruments to check dimensions and part features.
  • Operate OpCert and other computer-based systems to retrieve and store information and records.
  • Refer difficulties to leader or supervisor.
  • Perform routine servicing of assigned area equipment according to specified procedures and written instructions.
  • May be assigned additional tasks within the scope and skill level of the job description to support department objectives and skill development.
