About The Position

A Machine Operator 2 is responsible for operating multiple machines in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Candidates must be able to communicate and work effectively in a team, follow instructions (written & verbal), safely and accurately operate bakery equipment, and maintain GMP standards. This role requires organizational skills, the ability to read and follow formulations, calculate mixing times and lengths, record and compute exceptions, monitor multiple machines simultaneously, make batter adjustments, and perform calculations involving ounces and pounds. The operator must also be able to identify ingredients, understand instructions, and have good hearing and vision.

Requirements

  • High school diploma, or equivalent.
  • Ability to sit (5%), stand (40%), walk (10%), kneel/squat (20%) and bend (25%) for 12 hours.
  • Ability to lift approximately up to a maximum of 50 pounds, approximately 4 times per day from floor to waist.
  • Ability to reach from 10 inches approximately 2 hours per day, and up to 60 inches approximately 1 hour per day.
  • Ability to climb stairs approximately 8 times per day, ladders approximately 1-2 times per day, and crawling approximately 3 to 4 times per week.
  • Performs repetitive motion, using the hands and arms approximately 1 hour per day and the back (twisting) approximately 1 hour per day.
  • Ability to perform pushing/pulling of the upper body approximately 5 to 6 times per day and the whole body approximately 4 to 5 times per day.
  • May push and pull trash carts weighing 500 lb, dough carts weighing 800 lb, portable equipment and catch pans weighing 500 lb.
  • May walk on unprotected heights, catwalks, etc. occasionally every week.
  • Cannot be afraid of heights.
  • Must be in good physical condition.
  • Hearing.
  • Understanding instructions.
  • Seeing.

Responsibilities

  • Operate multiple machines, including Mixer (batter, dough, icing & cream), Depositor, Oven, Fryer, Tumbler, Injector, Wrapper, and Combi.
  • Follow instructions (written & verbal).
  • Safely and accurately operate bakery equipment.
  • Maintain GMP standards.
  • Read and follow formulations.
  • Calculate batter time and length.
  • Record batter and exceptions.
  • Compute exceptions.
  • Watch two machines and know what stage of mixing each is in.
  • Make batter adjustments.
  • Add weight together (ounces & pounds).
  • Identify ingredients in and out of packing containers.
