About The Position

Works with agricultural produce such as vegetables. Responsible for product safety, legality, regulatory compliance and product quality.

Requirements

• Less than high school education; or up to one month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words, and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers.
• Ability to print and speak simple sentences.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions.
• Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
• Employee must be available to work any shift, 7 days a week during production season.
• Regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.
• Must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Responsibilities

• Segregates produce on conveyor belt or table according to grade, color, and size.
• Discards cull (inferior or defective) items and foreign matter.
• Fills pepper machines with raw product.
• Remove cores from raw product on the popping line.
• Sorts raw product into size and color classifications.
