About The Position
Serves as a member of the front-line production team and performs various tasks that support operations at a high-capacity commercial laundry plant and help meet customer needs. Work may involve operating dryers or washers, stain washing, sewing or mending, sorting soiled laundry, folding, commercial ironing, packing, and distributing.
Responsibilities
- Maintains the flow of linen into tunnels, washers, dryers, and other equipment.
- Pulls bags and/or processes other laundry activities in the designated order.
- Loads linen into empty pockets in the tunnel as pockets transfer.
- Keeps pockets correctly loaded with the proper load size and prevents overloading.
- Follows directions and safety precautions.
- Maintains hourly production standards.
- Notifies the supervisor when frequent technical problems affect the ability to meet production standards.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
