About The Position

As a Production Line Leader at PPG's Sylmar, CA Plant, you will be a crucial part of the new product development process, ensuring that products transferred to full-scale manufacturing meet customer requirements. Your work will directly affect customer satisfaction! This position requires the use of, or access to, information subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations. Accordingly, only U.S. Citizens, Green Card holders and political asylees or refugees are eligible to apply. Requirements

Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a consistent basis throughout the day.
Ability to work flexible shifts, work any job, and work overtime as needed.
Comfortable with computer data entry
U.S. Citizen, Green Card holder, or political asylee or refugee status.

Experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment is preferred.

Responsibilities

Blending, measuring, and producing formulas that are destined to be manufactured in full scale at the facility.
Operating laboratory equipment to gather data related to product key characteristics.
Gathering raw materials needed for pilot or small batch manufacturing.
Working in a pilot production environment with the appropriate safety procedures in place.
Recording critical data to support scale up activities and first article inspection.
Preparing materials and product for packaging and shipment to customers.
Ensuring that the work cell remains safe, clean, and ready to use at all times.
Participating in project work related to product and process improvements for the site.
