About The Position

Join a high-performing team that is revolutionizing the wire and cable industry! We are seeking a motivated and experienced Lead to oversee production operations, support machine operators, and ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality output. This role is responsible for guiding daily shift activities, training operators, assisting with start-ups and changeovers, and ensuring production targets are consistently achieved. The Lead plays a critical role in fostering teamwork, driving continuous improvement, and supporting the company’s strategic growth plan. This position is hourly and non-exempt status.

Requirements

  • High school diploma required with at least five (5) years of manufacturing experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Working knowledge of extrusion lines.
  • Strong problem-solving ability and decision-making skills.
  • Attention to detail and proven ability to maintain production accuracy and quality standards.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word, with ability to use ERP systems for data entry and reporting.
  • Comfortable with hand tools, measuring devices, and interpreting manuals, work orders, and SOPs.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Flexibility to work shifts and overtime based on business needs.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor production areas to ensure strict adherence to safety rules, processes, and procedures, including proper use of PPE.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to operators, ensuring effective training for new and current employees.
  • Ensure accurate and complete recording of production paperwork.
  • Assist operators with start-up, shut-down, and changeover procedures to meet plant efficiency standards.
  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism when handling sensitive employee information.
  • Act as a liaison between shift personnel and the Production Manager, addressing personnel-related concerns.
  • Oversee housekeeping measures to maintain a clean and organized plant.
  • Ensure proper staging of materials for smooth shift transitions.
  • Encourage a culture of continuous improvement by identifying and implementing best practices for productivity, quality, and waste reduction.
  • Complete and submit the daily Shift Report summarizing production activities, incidents, and maintenance or quality issues.
  • Fill in on production machines as needed to maintain workflow.
  • Demonstrate strong attendance and punctuality, following company attendance policies to support uninterrupted production.
  • Perform any other duties as required or assigned by management.
