Production Lead

CalypsoLawrence Park Township, PA
Onsite

About The Position

Calypso’s Production Department turns finished flower and finished extracts/concentrates into compliant, patient‑ready products for wholesale to dispensaries across Pennsylvania. As Production Lead, you’ll report to—and act as the right hand to—the Production Manager, running day‑to‑day operations on the floor: coordinating people and work centers, hitting output and quality targets, and keeping every batch 100% compliant and traceable.

Requirements

  • 1–3+ years in cannabis or regulated CPG production/packaging; prior lead/crew‑lead responsibility strongly preferred.
  • Comfort working to SOPs in a tightly regulated environment (labeling rules, batch/lot traceability, COAs).
  • Hands‑on with scales, heat sealers, labelers, pre‑roll/flower packaging equipment, and basic troubleshooting.
  • Able to set pace, coach for quality, and hold a team to standards while keeping morale high.
  • Accurate weighing/labeling, basic production math, inventory counts, and clean documentation.
  • Experience with lean/5S or OEE tracking.
  • Prior use of METRC/BioTrack/MJ Platform or similar traceability systems.
  • cGMP, HACCP, or food/CPG packaging background.

Responsibilities

  • Run the floor each shift: assign stations, set the pace, and remove blockers to keep packaging, labeling, and case‑packing on schedule across product lines (flower, pre‑rolls, vapes, concentrates, and infused).
  • Own quality & compliance at the line: verify correct labels/SKUs, batch/lot and COA linkage, weights and counts, child‑resistant/tamper‑evident packaging, and final case checks; escalate non‑conformances immediately.
  • Keep everything moving: plan changeovers, stage materials, track throughput, rework, and downtime metrics, and communicate status to the Production Manager and Supply Chain.
  • Train, coach, and model SOPs: onboard new techs, cross‑train the team, and enforce safety, cGMP‑style practices, sanitation, and 5S.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot equipment: support routine cleaning, blade swaps, sealing/labeling calibrations, and basic PM; request service when needed.
  • Document everything: complete batch/packaging records, reconcile WIP/finished goods, and update the seed‑to‑sale system (e.g., METRC/BioTrack/MJ Platform) accurately and on time; prepare batches for QA release and outbound fulfillment.
